SA 12 month Rainfall Animation
Previous
Page
Please be patient for all 12 images to load..............
The animation below displays the average monthly
rainfall rainfall distributions looping through Jan-Dec. South Australia
is a dry state with a huge percentage receiving very little rainfall.
Most of the agricultural areas experience a Mediterranean climate of
hot dry summers and cooler wetter winters. The spread north of the rains
over autumn/winter/spring is strongest from May to October. February
is the driest month for most areas. The effect of the rain shadow on
the mallee regions from the Mt Lofty Ranges is also clearly visible.
See below for some animation instructions
You can control the animation speed, looping
direction:(forward, forward-reverse) or advance frame by frame.
The Navigator displays distance and direction from
Adelaide and can be set to zero from any point on the map.
