"Woodside is situated about 31 km east (slightly
ENE by 1 km) of Adelaide. The rainfall
measurements are taken from a rain gauge
between about 355 and 350 m AMSL, and the
gauge is 40 to 50 m east of the Onkaparinga
river. The average annual rainfall of this area, on
the western out-skirts of Woodside, is 800 to
900 mm or so, but varies considerably from year
to year and from place to place (only hundreds
of metres apart). The rainfall in Hills (from the
Uraidla/Mt.Lofty area out to Birdwood, etc)
drops off by 16.6 mm for every 1 to 2 km
(though the actual varies a lot with topography
and season). The township of Woodside is
compressed, with most buildings easily located
with 1 to 2 km, adjacent to the river. The valley
plain in this part of the ranges is rather narrow
when compared with areas further to the south,
and is between 50 to 200 m wide in most places
close to the river. The hills rise significantly
from the valley floor. Lenswood is a short 6.5 km
drive west. Charleston 5.6 km NNE, and
Oakbank is sparse at 5 to 6 km SSW.

Woodside is located at about 138.86 deg
east and 34.95 deg south."
