14th June 2004 Stream Showers

Previous Page

The 13th saw some intense and very localised showers from a frontal system. There were some significant falls with scattered hail and the occasional rumble from "coldies".

Decent structure over Mt Lofty

The line approaches forming a short lived gust front over the ocean.

An example of the stream showers. Note the areas of very heavy BUT EXTREMELY LOCALISED falls occurring over Meadows/Clarendon. They followed this line all day giving good totals above 30mm. Meadows received 30mm, while we less than 2km south only had 16mm. So sharp was the cut off line, it came down to about 750metres in distance making the difference between "copping" it and light rain. Very frustrating.
