Next on the agenda
was a front (see synoptic grab to the right). It arrived with
little fuss but did develop a strong and very narrow line of heavy
rain cells. On hitting east of the ranges this strengthened and
at one point stretched all the way from Burra to Salt creek. Extremely
heavy but quickly over falls were reported from Murray Bridge
where local streets quickly flooded over. But duration was short
so no damage reported. At my location the first line delievered
nothing more than a thick fog which rolled across the surface
of the ground in unusual "streamers". Kuitpo,however,
less than 10km from my spot, scored a quickfire 3mm such was the
transient nature of the rain cells.
Moisture was thick in the NW stream following the front but could
