Notice the sudden temperature drop, the humidity rise and the wind chill associated with the arrival of the storm. Also take note on the

As always records are made to broken! This little downpour certainly overflowed the gutters. There was not much else rain that night, the north westerlies were blowing (very strongly) and the rain shadow effect from Mt Lofty was strong. Rainfall is certainly a hard thing to predict.......

Downpour! 26thOctober 2001.

October has been a wet month, it seems that it just does not want to stop raining. At 10:41am, the heavens opened for a brief period, recording the heaviest instant rate (mm/hour) recorded to date of 16.8mm. Just to give an idea, when standing in a recording of 9mm/hr you get drenched, quickly. Let your imagination do the rest. The graph below records the fall.
