Kids are an endless source of drama, emotion and facial expression. These two images are both special and different, colour and black and white. Yet most unusually for kids they both seem to be momentarily quiet!

• The black and white pic shows thought, and is in a beautiful spot, an old buildings doorway in the mallee. The old Peake schoolhouse, now a private residence.
• The colour pic highlight must surely be the “Queensland safety boots” (and the reason for this post title), hardly the footwear for a hard working wood splitting kid! Rest assured its a staged shot 😉
